Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg is a Swedish actress from Sweden. She appeared in various movies, both European as well as American. Her most well-known performance was in the drama comedy film "La Dolce Vita". In 1960 the film was awarded the Golden Palm and an Oscar from the Cannes Film Festival. The movie also enjoyed both critical and commercial success. Born in Skane, Sweden, she worked as a fashion model before beginning her acting profession. She was crowned the Miss Sweden competition. When she moved to the US she began acting in a variety of films, acting in minor parts. The first role she was credited with was in the film "Abbott and Co. Go to Mars', where she played in the role of a Venusian guard. The film was later awarded the Golden Globe award in the "Most Promising Newcomer," category following her appearance in the film 'Blood Alley'. Through her entire professional career, she appeared in various other movies, such as the war film by American Italian "War and Peace," the Western film 'Valerie',"The Man Inside," the British adventure crime film 'The Man Inside as well as the French-Italian drama 'The Dam on the Yellow River'. In the year 2015, she died aged an 83 year old.
