Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for over 20 years. She is also a seasoned public speaker. She created Feminist Frequency the site with videos and guest posts on the representations of women in pop media. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American journalist and critic who has won accolades for her work. She is an activist blogger. Feminist Frequency is a non-for profit educational site that explores female representations in popular culture narratives - is created and directed by Sarkeesian. In her efforts to break down stereotypes related to women in popular media, she is also working on issues related the targeted harassment women and different classes of individuals online. Sarkeesian is a graduate in political thought and social theory from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public presenter. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen Festival as well as to the United Nations Broadband Working Group. She was interested in the gender issue and feminist movements at a early stage of her life. In 2009, while in university she launched the Feminist Frequency website. The ambitious lady planned to launch a web series on gender representation in video games. However, she found herself the target of a harassment online campaign. She was not deterred by the harassment, in fact it only reinforced her drive to become an expert on media and feminism.
