Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural family. Her birthplace was within South London. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss and her mother is English. She grew in an estate in South London council estate, as a teenager, she 14, attended The Brit School. She went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with an BA in acting. The stage she appeared in was many productions while attending school including the King Henry V, as Princess Katherine, and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Over the past few years, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's debut film was that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred opposite Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Following that, she played Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she was a part of Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. Madekwe played Bambi as Bambi in the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also starred as the title character in How to lose friends & alienate people, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment the year 2008. She has performed on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, directed by David Watson.
Madekwe made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes at The CW, and was eventually removed from the air. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge as of February 2011. The departure of Madekwe from the show was officially announced in May of 2013. After two years as a main character, she was a guest in the very first episode of season 3. In 2014 and 2016, she starred in the role of Tituba on the show Salem. Then, in June of 2012 she married her long-time boyfriend actor Iddo Goldberg. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for a Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Ashley Leggat joined Roy and Patty along with her three older siblings: Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley's four brothers, all very athletic, played hockey in the winters and baseball in the summers, meaning they grew up mostly in parks and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She was a dancer. When she reached just 2 1/2 years old when she was a little older, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer following this. Ashley was a dancer who competed across all major categories until the time she graduated from high school. The competitions she participated in included ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and Acrobatics. Top soloists at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
